TERTIUS JONCK

It isn’t every company executive who can seamlessly shift gears between managing a successful organisation and making award winning wines.

Tertius Jonck grew up in the countryside town of Robertson and completed his secondary schooling 1998. Tertius graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Oenology and Viticulture. He was extremely ambitious from the outset and his winemaking career begun as an Assistant Winemaker at Brandvlei Wynkelder in the Worcester region whilst also enjoying a harvest season in Germany.

Tertius was appointed as a Winemaker at De Wet Cellar in 2007. During the years that followed, he offered a unique blend of leadership, vision and knowledge and in 2015 he was appointed as Manager/Winemaker at De Wet Cellar. With Tertius at the helm there is no doubt that the Company will continue to prosper.


WILLIE MALAN

Willie grew up in the quaint Karoo town of Montagu, where his passion for winemaking was nurtured from a young age. Accompanying his father, a seasoned winemaker, to the winery, Willie developed an early appreciation for the art of winemaking

After completing his studies at Elsenburg in 1998, Willie gained invaluable experience by working harvests in France and Stellenbosch. In 2003, he started his career at Overhex Private Cellar, where he honed his skills and expertise in winemaking over the course of 22 years.

In 2024 , after two decades of success at Overhex, Willie felt it was time to spread his wings. He chose to bring his extensive knowledge and passion for winemaking to De Wet Wine Cellar, where he continues to inspire and contribute to the world of exceptional wines.
